U.S. Census Bureau has resumed 2020 Census “Update Leave” Operation

Hello, residents of Walworh County!  The Census Bureau has resumed dropping off 2020 Census invitation packets at front doors of households that do not receive mail at their home—this operation is known as Update Leave.

If you live in a rural area and haven’t received a census letter or paper questionnaire yet, please wait to respond until a census invitation and paper questionnaire is delivered to you. Upon receipt, please respond promptly with your Census ID or on the paper questionnaire, so we can get the best count of your community.

The health and safety of our staff and the public is of the utmost importance. All staff will receive safety training and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to observe social distancing protocols in the COVID-19 environment. For more information, please visit the 2020 Census COVID-19 operational adjustments page:

*If you have already completed the 2020 Census, there is no need to respond again.

*If you have a second home/cabin/residence that is currently vacant, you are required to respond for that residence as well (and annotate that no one is currently living there because we don’t want you to count yourselves twice.)  This will prevent a Census Worker from having to come knock on your door in August.
